David Gilmour Black Stratocaster Custom Built Replica with Hard Shell Case

  

This is a custom built replica of David Gilmour's iconic black Stratocaster. It's not a Fender custom shop model, I built it myself.

It's like new and has not been reliced. This replica wasn't built just to resemble the original-the components were carefully selected to match its feel, tone, and playability as closely as possible. A new hard shell case is included. The guitar has an poplar body with a black, mirror like gloss finish. It weighs in at 8.0 lbs.

It has a smooth maple neck and fretboard which have a vintage, aged amber nitrocellulose finish. It has a C shape profile with a 9.5 radius and 22 medium jumbo frets. The frets are crowned, polished and smoothly rolled over at the ends. It's a very comfortable neck to play. It has a one ply, black, 11 hole pickguard.

Both the middle and the neck are Fender Custom Shop pickups. The neck is a Custom Shop Fat 50. Fat 50's are designed to deliver a pure vintage stratocaster tone from the 1950s and early 60s. The guitar has the perfect combination of pickups needed to reproduce that iconic David Gilmour tone.

The volume and both tones are each controlled by high quality CTS 250K pots. The volume is wired with a treble bleed circuit to prevent treble loss when rolling down the volume. Both tone pots are wired to a large orange drop capacitor.

Tone1 controls the bridge and Tone2 the middle and neck. Just like the original, the electronics are equipped with the David Gilmour, 7 way switch mod which includes a recessed mini toggle switch. This allows the ability to play the combination of bridge + neck.

It also enables the ability to play all 3 pickups simultaneously. The output is equipped with a high quality Switchcraft audio jack. All the electronics are fully shielded with copper foil. The guitar is equipped with a Fender big block tremolo bridge with stamped saddles. It it comes with a shortened 4.25 tremolo arm just like the one used by Gilmour. It's also equipped with vintage-style, split shaft tuners with a 14:1 gear ratio.

It has a single roller type string tree and high quality mushroom head style strap buttons. It comes strung with David Gilmour's signature DHS Blue 10-48 guitar strings. Message me if you need more info.
