Bare Knuckle hand-wound APACHE pickups. Add a neck and you're ready to rock (well, you'll need to adjust the saddles and trem for your neck--action, intonation, etc). See pre-finish pic of body. We aged / relic relic'd this for a 1950s 1960s look (weather checking, belt buckle wear, arm wear, dings, scratches, discolorations, etc). Old school nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Standard Strat neck pocket 3" x 2-3/16" x 5/8. We included pics with a Fender neck installed to show fit and string spacing (you may or may not have to adjust the neck pocket to fit your neck); neck is NOT included. Loaded weight is a LIGHT 6.03 lbs. Raw body was only 3.92 lbs. ; when we had our Fender neck installed with Kluson tuners total weight was 7.3 lbs.

Bare Knuckle Apache hand-wound pickups : The Apache is a pure, full-bodied early'50s single coil set with exceptional natural sustain and low string pull from the Alnico III magnets. Apache single coils are based on the rounder, fatter tones of the original'54 to'57 coils.

They have a deep bottom end with a bell-like chime in the highs, and rich, wide, mid-range produce a crystal-clear clean tone without ever sounding harsh or thin. Overdriven tones sound full and crunchy with plenty of body for single note work. Scatter-wound by hand with vintage correct Heavy Formvar wire, the bridge coil is wound a little hotter to give better balance across the set.

The calibrated Alnico III magnets are hand-bevelled and set in fibre board flat work in either the original'54 stagger with low G magnet, or the more common'56 stagger. The low magnetic pull of the Apache allows for excellent dynamics and perfect intonation. Aged hardware: Fender Vintage spec'62 bridge / tremolo assembly (2-3/16 string spacing, steel block, 3 springs installed and 2 more included), vintage style Fender strap buttons, jackplate, neck plate and screws, pickguard & backplate screws, etc. Wiring harness: CTS 250k volume and tone pots; Sprague Orange Drop. 047uF tone cap; Fender 5-way switch; Switchcraft jack.
